The final results are always so clean, vibrant and polished and that’s my role- to make people and business look amazing- yet sharing how I get to the final destination seems to be lost. This ‘lost space’ is where the majority of my work and energy is actually focused and makes up part of my commercial rates. I’m excited to share more and what I want to offer visitors to this blog is some genuine engagement – show casing what it takes to be a working image maker- instead of scripted narratives often pushed by website developers and SEO experts. I just don’t have time to waste in that type of content. Who really does?
Anyway, the past few years have, well, been pretty average globally. I’m very happy to share that 2022 is turning out to been one of my best yet as a commercial shooter. The main reason is that i’ve moved into my own studio and the demand for headshots has been really good.
Meeting so many new faces weekly really makes me happy and I love what I do. I adore being able to help all types of people from models and actors, to corporates look their very best online with engaging and genuine portraits. Having such a relaxed and well lit space makes it more streamlined for me, and a great experience for visitors. Outside of commercial work I’m also able to invest time in the studio crafting new lighting techniques that translates across all aspects of my commercial work in studio, and on location.
As we head into 2023 I want to thank you all for your business and support. I wish you all the very best of health and mind as we enter the new year.
Meanwhile, here are a small selection of commercial portrait/ headshot images I’ve enjoyed making over the past year or so both in the studio and on location.– Paul.
